Subject to change. While new resources may be given, no new assignments will be added. CES is a pass/fail course based on attendance and completion. Updated 22/11/24.

Every day –

8am - grace period; prepare for day

8.30am – attendance and instruction meeting 9am – study group 11am – office hour, optional drop-ins Noon – class ends

Cover Letter

Submit: Progress email including updates and questions; first draft cover letter; up-to-date resume


Day 3 – Wednesday

8am - grace period; prepare for day

8.30am – attendance and instruction meeting 9am – solo work: read peer work and make notes; go through assigned resources 10am – Peer Feedback Workshop 11am – office hour, optional drop-ins Noon – class ends

Peer review

Dropbox > folder with this week’s date > peer work "CES: the feedback/workshop video," video

Submit: Progress email including updates and questions; written feedback for peers/written summary of workshop to be shared in the DropBox


Day 4 – Thursday

8am - grace period; prepare for day

8.30am – attendance and instruction meeting 9am – study group: write second draft of cover letter for your field + update resume – if you finish early, review the Interview material for Friday 11am – office hour, optional drop-ins Noon – class ends


On the lab site:

Editing

Refer to previously assigned content


Submit: Progress email including updates and questions; second draft cover letter; refreshed resume


Day 5 – Friday

8am - grace period; prepare for day

8.30am – attendance and instruction meeting

9am – study group: make any final changes to resume and cover letter

10am – interview workshop

11am – office hour, optional drop-ins

Noon – class ends
