wondering about next week's schedule? see this post.

I will be on campus for the duration of class. Please join me for in-person assistance.

While joining me in-person is optional for most students, if you are behind, failing, or repeating your course, it is mandatory. It is also mandatory if you have a shaky attendance record. If you are writing an exam, I strongly encourage you to do so on campus. Note you can also see admin such as Student Services or your Practicum Coordinator - their office is on the ground floor.

My classroom is Room 202 (the computer lab) on the main floor of the campus (same floor as the SkyTrain entrance); ask Front Desk for directions. Masks mandatory. Please bring your device and your headphones. If you are joining me on campus, you do not need to join the attendance meeting on Teams.

Everyone:

Along with the usual course feedback, I am running a survey about this lab site. I really value your input. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey - the more detail the better. Thanks! Don't forget to complete the ECampus survey as well.

Jay from Student Services will be hosting student appointments on campus for those of you who have questions or confusion about using ECampus and other tech confusion. If you missed orientation, please contact Jay at jay.choi@career.college

Please read the progress email FAQ if you have not yet done so. Failure to send the daily email will result in loss of attendance points which can affect your overall academic standing with the college. Please also remember that missing most of a course results in failure: click here to review a summary of college policy from your Student Handbook.

If you asked for an extension in your progress email, the answer is yes. You now have until Monday at 4pm. Email me Monday if you need any further accommodations.

As always, please watch the daily (Friday) video. If you have any questions about submission policies and late deductions, please see the Lab Policies document. If you have questions about grades, please see this post: https://caitlinbaird1.wixsite.com/thelab/post/important-re-feedback-from-me-grades

Instructions per course:

CES: Today is an in-class interview activity at 10am. The instructions are in the DropBox. Essentially, you are to answer (and create) questions you might encounter in a job interview. You'll have group time to practice interviewing each other. You should see your edits for your cover letter and resume (if you submitted them) in the DropBox. I will look over any updated documents sent yesterday and provide a second round of feedback. Send me your final edited copies by 4pm. Please CC our Employment/Practicum Coordinator (sheeba.ninan@career.college) on the submission.

ITC week 1: During class today, please take your midterm exam on ECampus. You'll see it show up after or during the morning meeting. It's multiple choice, 25 questions. Though there are two attempts available, do not use your second attempt without permission. There are also the two corresponding "bonus" quizzes - worth 2.5% each - which are also multiple choice, 10 questions each. Please take these as well if you did not yesterday. You can also retake these quizzes for a better mark if you were unhappy with yesterday's result. I allow you to take the quizzes twice, but there is a 24-hour waiting period before you can try again. Next week, you will be continuing with your assignments and completing your second study guide. The final exam and bonus quizzes 3 + 4 will be taken next Friday, the final day of your course.

Answers from progress email questions: 1. yes, please insert a photo for the Excel assignment - doesn't need to be the one provided. 2. No, you don't have to retake the quizzes if you don't care to improve your grade. 3. I will be doing live Excel demos on campus Tuesday.

ITC week 2: Take your final exam on ECampus, and retake quizzes 3 and 4. Submit your assignments via email and/or via ECampus by 4pm.

KBD: Take the tests today. Submit your test tracker by 4pm unless you requested an extension yesterday. If you did request an extension, you will be staying in class with me next week. I strongly suggest joining me on campus today or next week if you're struggling.

OSK week 1: Continue with your assignments. If you're not sure which topic to choose for your presentation, send me an email with your ideas and I can help you narrow it down.

OSK week 2: You have your final exam today. It's on ECampus. Simply click to begin. Please take it within class time today - it allows four hours. Join the exam room linked above. As I showed yesterday, the majority of the test is multiple choice and true/false. A few questions at the end, the short answer questions, require that you download a form (for example, a telephone message form), fill it in, and email it to me.

MSW, MSE, MSP: Carry on in Pearson. If you are having technical issues, please reach out. If your course ends today, make sure you submit your filled-in Grades Tracker by 4pm. Be sure to CC Student Services so they receive a copy of your Tracker.

Remember: MSW only needs Grader 1, 2, and 3 + Midterm 1 and 2 + Final 1; for MSE and MSP, please go from Module 1 all the way to Final Exam 2.

If you have already submitted your tracker, I have entered your marks on ECampus. If you wish for me to look over any of the assignments for grade increases, please join me in the 10am assignment check meeting.
