Answers to progress emails/updates:

  1. For the ITC final exam review, please refer to this video.

  2. OSK, my sincere apologies. We can do the presentation tomorrow before/after your test or we can set up a time for you to drop into office hour next week.

  3. MSW: re: mail merge: When you select the Excel file as your data source, Word will show a dialogue box asking if you trust the file before it converts the data (you can see this in my demo in the Chapter 3 video). If this is not working, check your security settings, particularly if the button is unclickable - especially: Mac security settings do not allow you to insert files saved directly to the Desktop. If the data source is saved there, simply save it in a different location or create a folder for it and the problem should resolve. If not...

    1. Save your progress (you should do this anyway before merging) and restart Word

    2. Download a new copy of the Excel file - the file may have been corrupted in the download or unzip process

    3. Microsoft's guide (with pictures!) to using Excel workbooks as data sources

    4. Microsoft's guide for troubleshooting mail merge data sources

  4. If you sent me an assignment to review, I will have a look in Pearson and email you an annotated copy as soon as I can.

  5. See you tomorrow.
