Abbotsford SSW students: next Thursday, 28th September, you will be dismissed immediately after your quizzes so you can attend an on-campus event for Truth and Reconciliation Day. Please reach out to Alison if you have questions.
Truth and Reconciliation Day: this year the federal government has decided to show the bare minimum respect deserved by our Indigenous communities by declaring 30th September (Saturday) a stat holiday. As this falls on a weekend, Monday 2nd October will be a stat. Campuses will be closed and classes will resume Tuesday 3rd October. If you would like to learn more about Truth and Reconciliation Day, here are my posts from 2021 and 2022. If you wish to purchase an orange shirt, I encourage you to buy directly directly from Indigenous artists.
