Today is the last day of the school week and, for some of you, the last day of your course. Check your schedules if you are unsure, and read through this post which answers Friday's most frequently asked questions: https://caitlinbaird1.wixsite.com/thelab/post/faq-what-to-do-next-week

If you are not finishing your course today:

  • carry on with your assignments

  • if you have a midterm, make sure you take it during class today

  • send me a progress email as usual

  • sign in on ECampus Monday as usual

  • see you in the morning meeting Monday

If you are finishing your course today but taking another lab course next week:

If you are finishing your course today and leaving the lab for program courses or practicum:

First contact for Student Services: Naira.Mavalli@career.college For practicum inquiries, contact: Kate.Merchant@career.college For schedule inquiries, contact: Cheryl.Danyliw@career.college Front desk: Gislene.Wetmore@career.college

To find your new instructor,

a. click the "Surrey Staff - Contact" button* on the Welcome tab. This will open a document detailing the name of each instructor, which program they teach, and in which time block they teach (morning, afternoon, evening), or

b. check your Welcome email from Cheryl/Naira that was sent after orientation - this should include your program instructor's email, or

c. email me with the name of your program (and instructor if you know) and I will put you in contact.

Instructions per course:

CES: Watch the video about your Daily Assignments and the Notes on CES if you need a refresher. Make any changes etc based on the edits given Wednesday and submit your second drafts. I will go through your new draft today or Monday, and provide you with further feedback as needed. If you don't hear from me about a third draft, you can assume you've passed the course.

Read through the document about the Interview exercise (in the DropBox). Create some questions of your own. Pay attention to the ways you can present your experiences - how can you best show the relevance etc?

By 4pm today, please make sure you have submitted:

a. your interview questions; your interview/reflection answers

b. your edited draft of your resume

c. your edited draft of your cover letter

ITC week 1: During class today, please take your midterm exam on ECampus. You'll see it show up after or during the morning meeting. It's multiple choice, 25 questions. Though there are two attempts available, do not use your second attempt without permission.

There are also two corresponding "bonus" quizzes - worth 2.5% each - which are also multiple choice, 10 questions each. Please take these as well. I allow you to take the quizzes twice.

Next week, you will be continuing with your assignments and completing your second study guide. The final exam and bonus quizzes 3 + 4 will be taken next Friday, the final day of your course.

ITC week 2: Take your final exam on ECampus, and quizzes 3 and 4. Submit your assignments via email and/or via ECampus by 4pm.

KBD: Finish the seven tests, either those that go with Paradigm and the textbook OR those from the Keyboarding without Paradigm document. Screenshot your results. Enter your results in the Grades Tracker. Submit the complete tracker + screenshots as email attachments by 4pm.

OSK week 1: Continue with your booklet and presentation. If you're not sure which topic to choose, send me an email with your ideas and I can help you narrow it down.

OSK week 2: You have your final exam today. It's on ECampus. Simply click to begin. Please take it within class time today - it allows four hours. As I showed yesterday, the majority of the test is multiple choice and true/false. A few questions at the end, the short answer questions, require that you download a form (for example, a telephone message form), fill it in, and email it to me.

MSW, MSE, MSP: Carry on in Pearson. If you are having technical issues, please reach out. New videos will be uploaded throughout the day. If your course ends today, make sure you submit your filled-in Grades Tracker by 4pm.
