Saint Nicholas (died circa 343CE), an Eastern Orthodox bishop, has many miracles attributed to him including the raising of three murdered children. His legend inspired the Dutch Sinterklaas, British Father Christmas, the French Père Noël, the North American Santa Claus, etc.
