celebrate pride: today is the anniversary of queer marriage legalization in Canada

17 years ago, the Civil Marriage Act legalized marriage for non-heterosexual people across Canada. For those of us who grew up with marriage withheld from our community, today is particularly poignant. Send love and joy to your LGBTQIA friends today and this pride month and always.

We still have a ways to go for marriage equality - did you know disabled people lose their coverage if they marry as we are infantilizingly considered dependants? You can help by signing the petition for BC to change their archaic income laws for disabled people.
