28 July, Tuesday

Good morning!

Please read through any of yesterday's posts that you may have missed.

Please watch the Tuesday video (on the Lectures tab) and come prepared to the 8.30 meeting with your questions.

If you haven't already, please watch the Welcome video and resource tour videos and read through your welcome documents including Lab Policies and the Daily Schedule.

Here's a brief overview of today:

SSS/BC-PRD: Watch the Recorded Lectures: Citation Lecture 1, Source Evaluation and Quote Integration, Lecture 3. Details about the assignment itself are in the videos SSS and BC-PRD and Citation Assignment Overview. You should also look at the example assignment on the Citations tab. From now until Friday, it's up to you how you divide your time between completing Enriched Academy and the citation assignment. We will discuss the lecture material in a meeting tomorrow, so make notes of your questions.

CES: Please watch the videos Notes on CES and Cover Letter Guide. Using the videos on the Courses page and the documents in the DropBox, write a cover letter for your field. Respond to your master ad with your content.

Your submitted Master Ads are in the DropBox.

All the resources on your Courses page are clearly labeled. Email me a draft of your resume and cover letter when you have it. Tomorrow we will be giving feedback.

ITC: You have the freedom to do your three assignments in any order, so I suggest starting with the program(s) with which you are most familiar (usually Word). As you progress through the PPTs to fill in your study guides, make notes of any questions you have and include these in your progress emails. I will film short lectures on the topics on which you would like elaboration. Please note I have a full walkthrough of the Excel assignment (Assignment 2, Case Study 2) and many, many example assignments available on the lab site.

MSW: Continue within Pearson.

MSE: I have activated the course! Watch the videos on the Lectures tab "How to get started with Pearson courses" and "How to check your grades in Pearson."

OSK: Continue with the booklet, study guides, and presentation.

The study guides are called "practice midterm" and "practice final," located on your Courses page. Fill them out using the PowerPoints (PPTs) on your Courses page. Note that you do have a textbook which elaborates on the PPTs - you can access this textbook in the upper right corner of your ECampus course page. I have emailed IT to make sure the textbook shows up for you. Your exam is on ECampus on the final Friday of your course during class.

For your booklet, you may complete the activities by hand or digitally, but it must be submitted digitally. I prefer one file. Think of these as in-class exercises.

Start thinking about your presentation topic as you go through the chapters. Points for being interesting. Your presentation will be given on the penultimate day of your course, a Thursday, at the end of the morning meeting.
